Keep Tender Coconut Waste Clean and Separate

Keep Tender Coconut Waste Clean and Separate

Tender coconut is one of the healthiest and most refreshing natural drinks. But after drinking from it, we often throw the straw and the coconut shell together, mixing dry waste with wet waste. This makes it difficult for waste collectors to process the waste properly, as they are quite tiny and can get lost easily.

The best way to drink tender coconut water is directly from the coconut — “kissing the bonda.” This avoids creating extra waste. But if drinking naturally isn’t possible, using a straw is fine — just remember to dispose of the straw responsibly in the straw box.

In our locality, we are installing straw disposal boxes near tender coconut stalls. After finishing your drink, you can simply drop the used straw into the box. This helps keep dry waste (straws) separate from wet waste (coconut shells and husks).

Tender coconut shells and husks are organic waste and can be composted or reused for other purposes. Mixing them with plastic or paper straws makes recycling and composting harder.

A small action from each of us can help keep our environment cleaner and make waste management easier for everyone. 🌱

  2. Paste the design on a box or a bigger bottle
  3. Make a hole on the top just like a piggy bank hole
  4. Hand it over to the tendercoconut vendor and explain the use of this box
